The development of Algol played an important role in establishing computer science as an academic discipline. The Algol 68 Genie project preserves Algol 68 out of educational as well as scientific-historical interest, by making available Algol 68 Genie; a recent, well-featured implementation written from scratch. Algol 68 Genie is a practically full implementation of the language defined by the Revised Report. The implementation is a hybrid compiler-interpreter; units with considerable interpreter-overhead can optionally be compiled. Note: 'a68g --compile' requiresfrom gcc 8+.
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
Problem reports, updates or suggestions for this package should be reported with send-pr.
